Privacy Policy

Betty’s Bureau is a secure website. Whenever you enter a part of the site that requires sensitive information such as your credit card details, the website will automatically switch to secure mode.

The secure status of the web page will be apparent to you when a purchase is being made using a secure connection.  You will notice when making a purchase that the beginning of our internet address will change from “http” to “https” and also by the locked padlock icon either at the bottom of your browser window or at the top right, next to the browser address bar. The position of the icon is dependent on which browser you are using. The padlock icon and the https: address both indicates that the site is secure.

To ensure data protection during the transaction process, we use the WorldPay payment system which uses a combination of both established and innovative techniques to ensure the security and integrity of all sensitive data.  Their public web servers are certified by Thawte, a public Certificate Authority, ensuring you can have confidence that nobody can impersonate WorldPay to obtain confidential information.  They provide a safe encrypted and digitally-signed protocol which uses a combination of standard methods such as PGP, RSA, and MD5 to ensure that the information passed is secure and tamper-proof via SSL.  Any communication between the shopper and WorldPay is also encrypted to the maximum strength supported by the shopper’s browser using 128 Bit SSL.

We will not disclose your information to any third parties.  Information is only used to take and fulfil orders and to administer our site and services.  Betty’s Bureau Ltd complies fully with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Payment by debit or credit card

All card payments taken online or over the phone are processed automatically with WorldPay secure payment methods through industry standard 128-bit SSL (secure socket layer) security.  If you pay by credit of debit card, your credit card statement will show a payment to Betty’s Bureau Ltd.  If you would prefer to speak with someone when placing your order, we are happy to take your orders over the telephone just call us on 0845 116 1565 and we would be happy to assist you.

Returns

If you do need to return an item, we can only accept returned goods in their original packaging & in perfect condition within 7 days of receipt of goods.  We would recommend for your own protection that when returning goods you use a signed for service and return with a covering letter including your name and address details, product and the order number.  The cost of returning goods to us for a refund is the responsibility of the purchaser. The original delivery charge will be deducted from any refund given.

Exchanges

If you would like to exchange an item please contact us within 3 days of receipt; we can only accept exchanged goods in their original packaging & in perfect condition within 10 days of receipt.  The cost of returning goods to us for an exchange is the responsibility of the purchaser.  In the case of exchanges a re-delivery charge at our standard rate will apply.  If you have received the wrong goods in error then the cost of re-delivery will be incurred by us.

Cancellations

If we have accepted an order from you & you then wish to cancel this order you will need to call us or email as soon as possible before your payment is processed and the items are dispatched. Please quote your Betty’s Bureau order number.
If you have already been sent an email confirming dispatch it means that your payment has already been processed and therefore it will not be possible to cancel your order. In this case it will be necessary for you to return the goods to us by following the ‘Returns’ policy mentioned above.  We can only accept returned goods in their original packaging & in perfect condition.  The cost of returning goods to us for a refund is the responsibility of the purchaser. The original delivery charge will be deducted from any refund given.

Faulty or Damaged Goods

Every item is carefully inspected to ensure it is in perfect condition before being shipped.  In the event that any goods received are faulty or damaged, Please contact us immediately upon receipt to arrange for return delivery of the affected item.  All claims must be made within 3 days of receipt of the order.  Goods must be returned within 10 days of receipt of order. We will endeavour to resolve the situation to your satisfaction without delay.

Once we have received the item concerned [in its original packaging & condition] we will ship a replacement or give a full refund for the cost excluding delivery charges.

This does not affect your statutory right to a 7 day working period to return the items from when you receive them.

We will not be held liable for damage or loss of quality resulting from extremes in weather, be it heat, cold or water ingress.

Please note: We cannot accept responsibility for any items lost or damaged in transit to us & would recommend that customers obtain proof of posting when returning goods.

These terms & conditions do not affect your statutory consumer rights.
